Derrick White’s game-winning tip-in off a missed Marcus Smart shot saved them from the jaws of defeat in game 6 in Miami which seemed to have crept away from them after they controlled the game for the most part. They are now on the verge of history as they look to become the first team in NBA history to overcome a 3-0 series deficit (0-150 record).
Miami came within 3 seconds of returning back to the NBA finals after Jimmy Butler’s 3 clutch free throws put them up 103-102. They couldn’t get the crucial stop they needed however as they fell to White’s buzzer-beating tip-in. Coach Spo was clearly distraught after the game as were the Miami Heat players. They will need to regroup quickly if they are to avoid being on the wrong side of history as the only team to choke away a 3-0 series lead.
