Denver Nuggets vs Miami Heat 12.06.2023
After splitting the opening two games in Denver, the advantage seemed to have shifted Miami’s way. However, the Nuggets underlined their superiority in this series by going to the South Coast and winning both games in Miami to take a commanding 3-1 lead, which brings them within one game of winning their maiden NBA title. Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray have sliced and diced the Miami defence and they have simply had no to stop their scoring and playmaking. Coach Malone knows the job is not done until they get that one win and will be looking to keep their troops in the moment as he has done as they steamrolled through these playoffs
Miami Heat’s fairytale run seems to have run its course. Whilst they have been outhustling and winning these other series purely on their effort, they have met a team that plays with as much intensity as they do and that is certainly more talented. As a result, they simply haven’t had any edge to lean on. They have also been leaning heavily on the brilliance of Jimmy Butler and lights-out shooting from some of their role players. Apart from game 2, Denver’s defence has seemingly found a way to neutralize both. Coach Spo will have to dig deep in his bag if he hopes to bring the series back to Miami for game 6
Close-out games as they say are usually the hardest games. Miami will not roll over and call it quits. They will do everything in their power to try and extend the series. They have lived and died at the three-point line and that will still be the case here. We expect them to put up a tonne of threes. Kevin Love is a wily veteran and a decent perimeter shooter. He had quite a few decent looks that he failed to hit last time. We are backing him to hit at least two in this game
Tip: Kevin Love Over 1.5 3-pointers
