Liverpool will look to bounce back from their first loss of their pre-season when they threw away a 2-goal lead in the 1st half to lose 4-3 to Bayern Munich in a thrilling match on Wednesday. The Bavarian’s 20-year forward Frans Kratzig turned out to be the hero as he scored deep into stoppage time to break the 3-3 deadlock that was heading for a penalty shootout. Despite the result, the Reds were very much at par with the German champions and Jurgen Klopp took a lot of positives from that performance that he will hope to replicate into the new season, especially the synergy from his forwards.
Darmstadt did well to finish 2nd in Germany’s 2nd Division but they have failed to reproduce that form in their pre-season preparations which has seen them go winless in 4 matches thus far, losing the first two and getting goalless stalemates in their last two against Karlruher and Sandhausen respectively.
