Newcastle missed a chance to consolidate their grip on 3rd place when they were held to a 2-2 draw away at relegation candidates Leeds United at the weekend. Two well-taken penalties by Callum Wilson, seem to set them on track to claim all three points but they just couldn’t hold on against the relentless hosts who levelled the game in the 72nd minute for a share of the spoils. The draw allowed Man United to move level on points with them but they still enjoy a massive goal difference which puts them in prime position to maintain their hold on 3rd place. They however cannot afford any more choke jobs lest they get supplanted by the Red Devils.

Brighton have proven to be the real deal. They bounced back from a shocking loss to Everton with a massive 3-0 away win over title-chasing Arsenal which could very much have driven the last nail to the Gunners’ championship hopes. The Seagulls have not been intimidated by top clubs having also beat Man United 1-0 a couple of weeks back. They are in the hunt for a European place finish this season which would be a massive achievement for them.

This is likely to be a tough game with both teams looking to get maximum points. We fancy a close start to the game that should then open up in the 2nd half. As such we are backing the 2n half to witness more goals than the first half
