Hubert Hurkacz vs Daniil Medvedev prediction
After a rather slow start to the tournament, Hubert Hurkacz has bounced back in style in the last couple of rounds to book his place in the quarterfinals. He saved his best for the last round to stop one of the revelations of the tournament, Frenchman Arthur Cazaux who had been on a terrific run, in straight sets! The Polish has been one of the best servers in this tournament and he will be looking to leverage it as he has been doing.
World number three Daniil Medvedev sailed through to the Australian Open quarterfinals after beating Portugal’s Nuno Borges 6-3, 7-6 (4), 5-7, 6-1. Twice a runner-up at Melbourne Park, Medvedev choked a big lead in the third set but got back on track in the fourth to book his ticket to the quarters.
This match should be an incredibly tight affair given the power, size, and athletic prowess that both of these players bring to the table. With Hurkacz’s serving abilities and given some of the struggles Medvedev has had with his returns in some of his recent matches, we feel the Pole can pick a set off him.
