USA vs Mexico 16.06.2023

Having cruised through Group D that featured El Salvador and Grenada, USA will be looking to move one step further when they meet their perennial rivals Mexico in the Playoff semifinals. They haven’t been in action since April though when they incidentally played against Mexico in a friendly setting. They needed a late equalizer from Ferreira in that game which ended 1-1. They have nevertheless been in camp in the last month and will be raring to go this Friday.

Mexico also had no problem navigating through group A which had Jamaica and Suriname. They have been quite busy with friendlies on their part including a thrilling 2-2 draw with African side Cameroon at the weekend in which they had to come from behind twice including their equalizer which came deep into stoppage time from substitute Henry Martin who plies his trade for Club America.

We expect a tight affair with neither team willing to cede too much ground in the opening half. However, as legs get weary and adrenalin kicks in we fancy the last half of the game to open up and we should witness more goals then.
